Painting on Textured Wood

I am waiting for the paint to dry on “Goat Island” so I started the picture above of my two grandsons and some dear friends.  I promised to share some new paintings that I have been enjoying.  I have put a texture on a board using plaster of paris.  Then I began painting the picture above on the textured wood.  I really like the effect.  I have set up a new gallery called “On Textured Wood” to share the two earlier paintings that I have done with this technique.  You can click on that gallery at the right.

As for “Goat Island” once the paint is dry I may touch it up a bit, but this is close to the final product.  I hope you like it.
