Where is Spring?

Bunnies in the Tulip Patch

Bunnies in the Tulip Patch

I have been working on this 24 x 36 acrylic over the last few weeks.  It is something a little different that I have enjoyed painting and it gives me the feeling of Spring even though the weather outside is not cooperating.  This painting will soon be delivereed for a nursery in Birmingham.

Back At It

My work in February was slowed by the heartbreaking death of my 24 year old niece in an auto accident.  For almost a week, I thought that I needed to escape to my art, but even though I got back to it this week, I am still heartbroken.  I have been working on Belle for a nursery in Auburn.

Belle

I am putting the finishing touches on this one and hope to deliver this week.

Two weeks ago today, I delivered the painting below to a dear friend whose grandson is fighting Leukemia at St. Jude.  I hope it will brighten and inspire him.

This week I delivered the painting below for a nursery in Birmingham.  I used mixed media to match the nursery fabrics and include a subtle hint for a future football allegiance.

Another Busy Month

I have really enjoyed painting in February.  I delivered the painting below to St. Vincent’s hospital on Monday night to help welcome a new neighbor and the son of dear friends.

Tomorrow, I will be delivering several paintings to their new homes and I enjoyed working on all of them.

I really liked this clever idea.  A new mother was decorating her nursery and came up with a unique idea to incorporate songs that her grandmother sang to her into her nursery theme.  What a dear grandmother she must have been.

I will also be delivering another cute nursery painting where the mother helped me come up with some clever ideas.

Finally, I will be delivering another painting that is very special to me.  I have painted this beagle once before for a child’s nursery and now the owner was kind enough to ask me to do another for nursery #2.  I hope she will like it.

January Has Been Busy

January has been a busy month for me.  I am still inspired by the photo of the two beautiful sisters that my daughter shared with me.  Earlier, I shared a Christmas painting that I did of these girls.  Now, I have tried again on an 18 x 24 canvas in mixed media acrylics.  I really like this painting and I hope that you do.

I did a little more work on the angel (Watching Over Me) that I am taking to Spotlight on Art.  I also delivered a painting of a special family member, Pipi, that I promised before Christmas, and found a few extra minutes to paint a Tricycle for display and sale at Once Upon a Time.

Santa’s Helper

I have not been putting a lot of work up in the last few weeks because I was helping Santa prepare special Christmas presents and I did not want to give away any Christmas secrets.  I had a wonderful holiday and appreciate all of those who allowed me to share in their celebrations by preparing a gift for their tree.  Here are some of the paintings.  Be sure to keep scrolling to see all of them.

Running in the Sprinkler

This painting was for a special aunt.

A Special Day at Chimney Rock

Those of you who follow my work know that I love Lake Martin and this is one of my favorite subjects at Lake Martin.  A special friend requested this painting for her son’s wedding gift.  He’s the one doing the flip.

Shelties

These pups are members of a family and this painting was a Christmas surprise from a family member.

Ayden Grace

A grandmother to be wanted something special for her first grandchild’s room.  She was so sweet to ask me to help.

A very dear friend asked me to memorialize the blessed event of the wedding of her son and daughter which she wanted to give as a Christmas gift.  We worked together on her idea and the paintings above are what we came up with.

Sweet Sisters

There is a lot to tell about the sweet sisters in the painting above, but I may be giving away a secret.  My daughter showed me a photo of these two sweet girls and I could not resist painting them.  I hope their mom liked the Christmas surprise.

I hope you enjoy these paintings that have kept me busy for the last few months.  I am thankful to these friends that asked me to participate in their Christmas and remember their special days.

I have enjoyed the holiday with my family but will be busy in January.  I have five commissioned paintings that I need to finish this month.  Also I will be delivering some paintings to Trinity Spotlight on Art in Atlanta for their show in February.

Thanks for keeping up with my work.
